At an early age if we don’t receive love and protection we become scarred on some level. People seek out many forms of belonging in order to achieve a sense of connection. This takes the form of belonging to churches, schools, fraternities, sororities, clubs, companies and even the desperate need to belong to gangs and mobs. The Internet has provided a substitute sense of belonging through many social networking sites such as Facebook. I believe the need for connections to others is becoming more powerful.
