I want to apologize for my wording in the last newsletter. [November 2008 News from the Stars.]  I did not mean to say Barack Obama will be assassinated if he wins the election. I meant to say, with the extremes in the energy of the masses it is a possibility - not that it will happen. I believe nothing is set in stone. I have repeatedly said we have free will and can change the outcome in our own lives, and the world, with conscious awareness. This is the purpose of astrology. I feel I have averted many catastrophes in my own life with awareness of the possibilities in my own chart and life. The implications in Obama’s chart are not easy. Ketu on the Sun is extremely difficult. This is happening on the day of elections. Actually, interestingly enough the 7th house where Ketu is conjoining his Sun rules the maternal grandmother since it is the 4th house from the 4th house, meaning the mother’s mother.

I want to emphasize the message in the last newsletter. We cannot put our faith and hope in one man to solve our problems. We must take responsibility for our own lives and look within instead of looking for someone else to save us. If we look outside for someone to save us we will always be disappointed. Furthermore, the fanaticism that this political race is creating is destroying our land by creating social uprisings, racial tension, hatred, and possible assassinations. We have the ability to change it by not being part of this anger. I am merely stating what is happening and what the trend of events could produce if we do not maintain our awareness and control the anger.

Astrological delineation is a spiritual and practical tool to help realize our energies and potential. There isn't one astrology chart that is perfect. We all have positive and negative forces within us. It is the guidance of astrology that helps our conscious awareness to choose our actions and be responsible for our thoughts and reduce the negative forces while enhancing the positive. Yes, it is true that planets line up both in our favor and against but as you say, it is how we choose to handle those seen and unforseen moments that can make a difference. I am teaching hatha yoga now and studying ayurveda, maybe later on the vedic astrology. I want you to know that I understood what you were saying. I know that you are not predicting doom, and it is true that we are each responsible for our own lives, but Joni we have a corrupt government and we are paying to bail out others mistakes while we are at the same time having our freedoms taken away, what can I as a person do about this? Reason people get frustrated is there is a feeling helplessness. The technology is availabe today to allow everyone to vote from home using our telephone, we could be voting several times each month about many issuse, electric cars, the environment, global warming and getting out of the oil situation, solar energy, our borders, national safety and decisions to go to war are a few examples, we have elected officials that we entrust and yet due to large monied corporations our government is corrupt as corporations and there money are running this country and the people, many of the middle class are paying the freight. I have voted for Obama, but I realize it is highly likely that not much will change. Since I have had many readings from you over the years, I certainly realized that you were identifying a significant challenge that existed for the US and the presidential candidates charts. As you pointed out, astrologers call-out the planetary events and trends which can point to a possible manifestation in the physical world. I can't recall how or when I went to her website, read an article I liked in 'The Mountain Astrologer'. Its construction, layout, your articles, and your brilliant astrological insight. I myself am a practicing astrologer of over twenty years, versed in the Western practice although I understand Vedic well enough. I also am clairsentient and often use the tarot to explore the indicators that I see in a chart. I have been fascinated with this election cycle. I have read your articles with interest. Interestingly enough, despite the difference between the sidereal and tropical systems I arrived at many of the same conclusions from the candidates charts as you, and have posted my forecasts on several online sites. I also caution astrologers not to utilize astrology to support their political views of any ilk. Often politicized psuedo astrologers enhance or discount aspects and transits to suit their own world viewpoints, not only misusing the practice, but creating a form of 'astroganda' that serves no one well. You are one of the few untainted, posting online, who seem to have remained neutral. Congratulations. I caution your readers therefore not to insult Ms. Patry for forecasting what she sees as indicators. If you want your own world views homogenized and validated find a political site where you can vent and rail. In the greater scheme of things, no one is right, no one is wrong, ...

His chart displays eight separate indicators for death. Currently in the western system his Uranus will shortly be making its second pass by retrogradation to his natal Mars come January. The third hit will follow soon thereafter. These two planets individually often act as triggers to other astrological energies. Together they bespeak a strong flash drama of sorts. I have said for well over a year that if elected, he would be placing himself in the hands of the Fates. These things are often decided by spirit well in advance. He is a walk in meant to be where he is at this time. The purpose will unfold as it is meant to unfold whether for the greater good, or not.
