June 2008 News from the Stars | Print |
Saturday, 31 May 2008
Fishing Net - IndiaI just returned from an incredible experience at the United Astrology Conference (UAC) in Denver, Colorado. There were about 1,500 astrologers from around the world, with 45 countries represented. This is the largest conference in the world and is held only once every 4 years. I was honored to be one of the presenters on the Vedic astrology tract. With the excitement of this rare event, news reporters were clamoring to take notes. I had the privilege to be called upon at the opening ceremony to reveal the data I had been given by a client on Barack Obama’s birth time. This became a huge political calling for me for I had worked tirelessly on the charts of John McCain and Barack Obama before this conference and was asked by everyone including all the news reporters on my take on the outcome for the elections. I am not politically minded and try to be as objective as possible. But with politics being such a touchy subject I was completely astonished by the response of the other astrologers. To be honest, it saddened me. I have to reveal that I was verbally attacked. This was very disillusioning to me for I assumed this was a high-minded group of spiritually oriented souls here to raise the consciousness of the planet. Upon returning home, I contemplated what I was here to see and learn through this experience. I am here to reveal what has come through loud and clear.

I have always stated that the President elected will always be a reflection of the mass consciousness, therefore if you do not like who is elected it is time to look deeper into yourself to understand how you are responsible as part of this reflection. What I got from the other astrologers who did not like my choice of John McCain for the elections was radical anger. So I am seeing the mass consciousness of anger and blame for the state our country is in. We must realize we cannot put the blame for our circumstances on our government. We are not taking responsibility for our own lives when we blame the government for our problems, for we must know we have created this predicament in our own lives. Putting the blame outside of ourselves makes us a victim, and victims never grow in consciousness because putting the blame outside ourselves gives away our power to change our predicament. No matter what you may think about the government today, you have taken part to create this mass level of consciousness. The good news is you can take back your own power to change the predicament of your life and affect our nation. Until we understand that each one of us is responsible for everything, this feeling of separateness will continue.

How do I propose we do this? I do have an answer here. First, we must wish upon our nation that the person who comes into power will be for the highest good for our nation, detaching ourselves from who it may be. Secondly, and most importantly, I want everyone to love our country instead of hating it. I find that the astrologers I spoke with had a literal disgust and hate for our country by means of blaming the political powers that rule. With this hate we are destroying our country and making it worse. With every hateful attack you make on our country you are allowing terrorism to come into our country. Can you not see this hate and the attacks on our country are the result of our own unconsciousness? I know my audience here is global, so please forgive my focus on the United States but I know this exercise I am proposing here can be applied to your own homeland no matter where you live. We are all one as humanity. The problems we have here on planet earth concern our feelings of separation from each other instead of our sense of unity. Here is what I propose we all can do to shift this dire energy we are unleashing onto ourselves. I want you to think about how much you love your country regardless of what you may think about the current situation and your opinions of how you think things should be run. Get rid of all the negative thoughts and conspiracy theories because these are the thoughts that are destroying us, and our nation. Think of our country, the United States of America, as the land of opportunity where we can be free to have our own beliefs and religions. When traveling abroad it is always great to come home to America, for we have so much prosperity and wealth.

As a flight attendant for 30 years I have traveled to every state in our nation and have experienced all the diverse wonderful cultures of each state. They are somewhat like their own counties. Here are some of my happy feelings and experiences of our beautiful United States.

The magnificent beauty of the pacific coast and wineries in California give a beautiful sense of luxury and heaven. I can’t help but imagine the beautiful beaches where I used to envision the Beach Boys playing their upbeat music and people dancing on the sand. In Seattle, the lush beautiful gardens and snowcapped Mount Rainier look like a fairytale land, and I love the counter culture of the creative musicians there. The breathtaking red rocks in Sedona and the vastness of the remarkable Grand Canyon are truly unique. There is nothing like this anywhere in the world. The mystery and deep earthy spirituality of our Native American Indians give Arizona and New Mexico their mystical feel. The artists of this area inspire me to look within. The Rocky Mountains give me a sense of reverence with their majesty. Then, there is the simplistic genuine warm-heartedness of the people of Texas, particularly in West Texas. You have to go there to believe it. They are for real! The fun of driving in the hill country in Texas taking pictures of the fields of bluebonnets and the amazing music that comes out of this small portion of Austin, Texas at the Armadillo is all a part of my college days. The jazz bands, and flavors of the Creole foods indigenous of only Louisiana particularly New Orleans is a blast. The pristine white beaches of the Florida gulf and the beauty of the salsa dancing and all the vibrancy of southern Florida makes me think of summer vacations as a child. The southern hospitality known only in the south is unforgettable going through the Carolinas and Georgia. Then there are the museums and history that gives our country its pride in Philadelphia and Washington DC. I love the culture and museums in Chicago and the view from the Sear’s tower. The open-hearted people greet you like familiar neighbors in the warm and friendly bars. You will never forget the bustling amazement of New York City, and all the funny characters there. In New York City you can find everything. It is a metropolis of humanity converging all in one spot. The creative arts and the theater shows are representative of their culture. Then, the captivating beauty of New England, especially with all the vibrant colors of fall has always amazed me, and I love the lobsters and lakes of Maine.

This is what I think of when I think of our great country. I love America and I am so happy to have been born here. I am so grateful for all the opportunities this great country has given me. It hurts me to see people who proclaim to be spiritual sending so much hate out to this beautiful nation. Please, I am urging all of you that are reading this to start concentrating on how fortunate we all are to be here, and what a magnificent country we have here.

I remember the great yogi Paramahansa Yogananda once said we are so very lucky to be incarnated in America because we have some of the most spiritual minds seeking the truth. If we all band together in these positive thoughts of gratefulness and love of our country, we can end the threat of mass destruction to this beautiful free country we live in. Show appreciation and love for your country and this is what will be returned to you from this sacred land. And as a result the government in power will reflect this loving mass consciousness. We have the power to avert the mass destruction that will occur with all the hatefulness toward our country.

Positive breeds positive and negative breeds negative. Be the positive force that heals our planet and ultimately our own lives to bring us into the joy God intended for all of us. These positive thoughts bring tears of joy to my eyes as I think of the magnificence of our country. This will help lead us into a world of higher consciousness - into the period of enlightenment.

I have focused my attention on America because we are the country that sets the tone globally, but by all means, no matter where you live you must focus on the beauty of your own land, learning to appreciate and love your country. I see beauty in all the world’s countries with all the diverse cultures and their uniqueness, this is where our awareness must go, to the love and appreciation of this incredibly beautiful planet earth. What we put outward is what we receive back. Love and appreciation is what we are all looking for. Unity and appreciation for all our interesting differences that complement each other, understanding we all are one. There is nothing more exciting for me to visit a new country I have never been to before, to see all the differences and experience their culture for the first time. We have a magnificent planet!

Imagine all the places and good memories you have had here exploring this vast beautiful planet and make this a contagious and positive visualization and you will create your own happiness and joy that mirrors globally.

Please share this message with others who are like-minded and want the best for their country and humanity.

Planetary Predictions

Rahu and Ketu have just shifted into Capricorn and Cancer where they will remain for the next 18 months. This will indicate more natural disasters, particularly extremes in weather. A cyclone, and an earth quake hit Asia as Rahu and Ketu shifted into these signs around May 5th.

Mercury is retrograde and is causing all kinds of confusion and uncertainty especially with the economy. Mercury and Venus are so close to the Sun (combust) that areas ruled by these 2 planets are troubled. This means communication foul ups and changes in travel plans. Understanding your partner and their needs is crucial now for relationships are under pressure. Don’t make any decisions concerning relationships for situations and feelings will change radically next month.

New Moon Chart for June 2008

On June 11th foreign affairs top the news with the rise and fall of the American dollar. The manipulation of the powers that rule the world confuse the masses. Financial matters are on a roller coaster ride till the end of July. After July 28th oil prices and rising prices will begin to stabilize. But till then expect extremes in the financial markets and oil prices will continue to rise.

On June 15th, Mars conjuncts Ketu causing a break in the news concerning the presidential race. There will be disgrace and disruption in political campaigns. There will major problems for Obama for he has his major planets in Cancer. He must be very careful. This is a very emotional time for America. Mars and Ketu in Cancer (the sign of family), affects the family unit. There are more marriages breaking up for the family unit is being destroyed. Both Mars and Ketu are very fiery planets indicating anger and heat. With all the anger prevalent worldwide there may be some attacks and explosive events. Those who have planets in the sign Cancer will have a difficult month dealing with issues of anger. Many personal relationships are being tested and may be coming to an end.

June 19th Mercury turns direct and Mars aspects Uranus, indicating sudden unexpected changes in the economy and the stock market. It will be a wet season globally while Mars transits in Cancer.

June 20-21 is a tumultuous time. While Mars aspects Uranus it also and opposes Neptune. The rising oil prices are causing financial ruin for many businesses. There will be explosive events, accidents and treacherous weather that causes upsets and power outages. Natural disasters shake up the world. Globally there will be many disasters throughout the summer. I believe it is planet earths’ reaction to all the negative emotions and anger. It is time to find what you are grateful for and concentrate on being loving, and caring for others. This is the only way to avert the mounting destruction from building. Once we learn to take responsibility for our own lives all these negative effects appearing globally will disappear.

Excerpt from Book "Awaken to the Truth"

Mount Rushmore Our Leaders are a Mirror of our Mass Consciousness
As relationships reflect our own issues, on a global level we are reflected through our political representation. If you feel angry towards our Presidents and leaders, remember, they are a reflection of the mass consciousness. People of all nations want to blame the problems of their country on their leaders, when they should be looking at themselves. The people have created the predicaments of their nation. The leaders are simply the mirror of our consciousness. Every leader comes into power to give us exactly what we need. Everything happens for our spiritual growth. So as it happens on a personal level, it can also be seen on a global level. We need to take responsibility for the needs of the world if we want to see positive change in the world. As we work on ourselves, we make this a much better world for all.

I so appreciate getting a positive look at the world. Too much of the e-mail
that I receive is doom and gloom. Truly the only way that we can have a better
America is to suround our country with love. Thank you for promoting the
positive.

Hi Joni,

I am sorry the astrologers attacked you at the conference. It was
unprofessional and nonsensical on their part. First, your data was valid, and
secondly, it is not wise to kill the messenger. Your comments made me think of
the zen saying "the bigger the front, the smaller the back." Those
astrologers touting their spirituality have very little of it to support their
bragging. You can tell I'm an introvert.......Sorry I am coming into Dallas the
day after your dinner.....maybe next time.....Hang in there! Gayle

I too am sorry you were attacked at conference.
When I studied management I
was warned of the dangers of 'group-think'.
Events in Iraq show only too
clearly the results of group-think.
And after all Uranus rules astrology and
also eccentrics, homosexuals and revolutionaries.

Dearest Joni, people attack when they feel threatened. What were they
threatened by? Okay, before you even opened your mouth, this is what people
saw: a bright spirit, a beautiful, intelligent Female, standing in her power,
certain of her information. Are you with me? When you opened your mouth, they
knew you were ascended by the radical message you gave. Did they have to agree
with you in order for your presentation to be valid? No. Did they have to
allow it to overcome their senses? No. A prime example of the group
unconscious at work. Group think is a funny thing, it shuns, oppresses, kills
individuality.

I think your newsletter is intelligent, forthright, opinionated
(not a bad thing, I say hurray!). I love your message that we need to love our
country, that these love-ly emanations will bring about the positive changes we
need in our lives, our country and throughout the world. You also state, which
I totally support, that we need to take responsibility for our thoughts. This
is a truthful medicine that is hard for the Unconscious to metabolize. After
all, to use a food metaphor, "it's not me that made me fat and gave me
diabetes, it's McDonald's," right? I could go on ad infinitum.

You get my
Gutsy Dame Award for speaking your truth.

I am truly sorry that you were treated so poorly at the conference, Joni. Those
of us who have benefited from your positive messages and insights over these
years through your newsletters, website, readings and instruction will continue
to support you and find inspiration from your work! Thank you for the reminder
that we need to be thankful for what we do have and that we can focus energy on
perpetuating the good in life. The "negative" is always out there but
it is our personal choice to either empower it through extreme focus and
anger/hatred, or choose to change and shift it towards the improvement of
all.

it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I'm sorry you were attacked. That just shows the state of consciousness society
is in - even the supposed spiritually aware. Thanks for showing people how to
see the positive.

I empathize with you Joni. I attended the UAC in Florida five years ago and was
Very disappointed in the qualities I saw in most of the "Western"
astrologers. Since then I have attended a couple of Vedic conferences and have
found them to be harmonious, spiritual in intent, and much more enjoyable. In
fact I met you at one of them in Sedona, AZ.
The attack you received was
indeed misguided and unfortunate, but the West is still attached to material
desires and selfish needs. Please don't take their fearful comments to heart,
as many, many western astrologers just aren't spiritually minded (more's the
pity)
My best to you, as one of our most enlightened and loving teachers.

Dear Joni,

I have been reading your forecasts for a while now, an i thank you
for your work and for sharing it.

As usual, most astrologers only want to earn
money and making a living instead of serving. So when someone comes and gives
everything as clear and direct as you did, well, they tend to get a little
mad.

Joni,

Thanks for sharing your experience and your inspiring thoughts.

The idea that we move into a place of love for our country is wise and
important. It's absolutely true that our thoughts and frame of mind create our
experience and affect our reality.

And while we expect (and hope) that
astrologers and ministers and other helpers would be above negativity, we must
remember that none of us is above our enmeshment in the systems we're a part of.
I have heard many people who are spiritually awakening speak with
disappointment and frustration at how things are in the world right now. I
think it makes sense that all of us should feel that way, because we long for
things to be different and better.

For the record, I was at the conference
and in the lecture where Joni shared her perspective on the election, and the
interpretation made logical sense to me. So, I was definitely not one of those
who disagreed with or attacked Joni.

Having said that, let's remember that
the astrologers who didn't like the idea of things turning out as Joni said,
were probably reacting from their fear of what that outcome might mean for
things to come. When we dream and hope that things will get better, hearing a
prediction that things may not suddenly be beautiful is frustrating. Let's not
forget that those who dream of things to be better will naturally feel
disappointed, frustrated and, yes, perhaps angry when they hear that things may
not quickly change.

Why do we expect astrologers and ministers to be
perfect and not have initial emotional reactions to what they perceive as bad
news? All of us are still growing. I hope, and don't believe, that the
astrologers who attacked Joni were attacking her personally. I like to believe
that they were just having a nasty reaction to what they saw as bad news. Good
astrologers don't filter r...

the accurate time?

That would give him a libra lagna with mercury, the next

America has changed. It is not the country I grew up in. The attitudes have
shifted. People are so mean and rude I hardly want to leave the house anymore.
I hate my job, hate the people I work with, and hate the state where I live. I
can't pretend to like America, I never have. The brief moments of happiness I
remember were all in other time periods (70s and 90s especially). I've
accepted that the attitudes in the states have permanently shifted and am not
going to try to make the country better. That I have to live here and deal with
the trauma I've lived with for most of the last 30 years has made it such that I
hardly care about the economy or who's president. What difference does it
make?? My parents lived the American dream back in the late 70s and 80s under
different economic and social conditions. Those conditions are gone for good.
I'll never be rich or even well off. I'll always feel bad about being single.
That I'm not even a divorcee seems to be a stigma nowadays. Americans are so
rude and hateful, the conditions in the country are the fault the Boomers, their
selfish children and the generation X of which I unfortunately belong. We've
created this mess and we deserve the misery.

Dear Ms Patry,

Now that Barack Obama's real birth time has been revealed that
of 19.24 via his official site with confirmation an authentic Birth
Certificate.

I was wondering after reading your Blog, why you have not
commented at all on this recent event as it does clearly conflict with the
supposed time you revealed at the UAC ?

Best wishes to you

I saw the Convention coverage on Fox News Channel and immediately took note.
It's not often we see Astrology and Conservativism walking hand-in-hand. How
interesting that I happened upon your article and your site, for that matter,
for the very first time today.

As a natural born clairvoyant (ardent '80-90's
'New Ager') turned semi-sceptical realist, I guess I'll have to give in and
consider this a sign ...

Thank you.

Joni, it sounds to me you are very patriotic, you are right America is awsome!!
I am a forigner who loves America and those who dont like it should pack up and
move. Let them see what other countries are like and soon they will realize THE
GRASS IS NOT GREENER ACROSS THE STREET. Like it or leave. The trouble is most
crybabies are just talk not action.

Dear Joni,
I am just checking in with your site after some time and see that you
created controversy. It's ok, sweetheart,,anybody with any power will do that!

You have not heard nor seen me in a few years as there have been many changes.
First off, divorced and , took a few years to heal...went to India to the cave
that Ganesha was to have lived in!! went to the Saraswati valley etc!! Did all 4
of the sacred sites.Have studied Vendanta with Dyananda in Rishikesh..and with a
few more Indian Gurus. So, it has still been study!
Now I have moved to Mexico,
Playa del Carmen and have been here for 8 mos. Resting a bit actually and doing
some real estate development.
Now, I have the energy to build my Astrology
practise more. I am always doing readings of course, but have more time to focus
now.
I wanted to reconnect with you. It would be great if I could begin to do
some lecturing at the conferences soon..also now also have some time to devote
to the organization if you think there might be a good place/job for me?
Hope
you are well..look forward to hearing from you when you have a
minute.
Blessings,Paddi

Dear Joni,
I have read all your articles and am really impressed by your in
depth knowledge on astrology.

Both Michael Milken and George Bush were of
Cancer ascendants and with Sun in 12th house. However in their navamansh Sun
became powerful.

I want to know your comments on the following scenario. What
if George Bush had Sagitarius Navamansh, with Sun in the Scorpio in the 12th
house, and lets assume his natal sun was of dhanista nakshatra with its lord
mars positioned in the 10th house in lagna chart.

Also, how does the dasha of
lord of second house positioned in 12th house go?

What is the difference
between rajyogas and dhanayogas? in the sense, a lot of people have rajayogas
but are not that wealthy..
