The month of May is a huge turning point astrologically. With the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology Jupiter will enter into Pisces on May 1st. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and therefore gives Jupiter enormous strength. Jupiter is the planet of wealth, prosperity and freedom. Now that Jupiter is in Pisces it will aspect the other water signs. Jupiter aspecting the sign Cancer, the sign in which Jupiter is exalted, will bring growth and expansion in the area ruled by Cancer, which is real estate and family. This is exactly what our world needs, growth in home and family. This will bring a sense of security on all levels. The only deterrent in this placement is that Jupiter will be opposed by Saturn which can limit and restrict the expansive capacity of Jupiter.

Another pivotal event his month is Mars will finally leave the sign of Cancer where it has been since October 2009. Mars in Cancer has been the culprit of most of the economical downturn, particularly in the housing markets. Mars as the karaka for real estate, was in its sign of debilitation, meaning its weakest placement, and additionally it was retrograde during the worst part of the real estate standstill. When Mars turned direct in March the housing market began to change. As Mars leaves Cancer all areas ruled by Mars will improve. Areas Mars rules are real estate, siblings, matters of war, violence, courage and will power. All these areas are repressed in the sign of Cancer and retrograde. But, what will happen once Mars becomes stronger in more powerful signs? This could strengthen areas ruled by Mars like war and violence. An important point for us to understand is that as Mars gains strength, we as individuals will regain our will power and ambition to achieve our goals and wishes. Mars debilitated, retrograde extinguished our drive, ambition and will power. Regaining these attributes will give a sense of momentum and give a reason to live again. To be successful in life one must have a strong Mars for it gives drive, ambition and passion.

This is a critical time of revolution where radical change is inevitable. Change always occurs to promote growth. It is much like a birthing process. The pain of the birthing process always precedes a new world. We are birthing a new world right now. Yes, there will be world catastrophes which are necessary to transform this planet to be a better place in all respects. There will be a breakdown of financial markets, which is already in the process of happening. The change is essential and necessary. Remember the only reason we are here is for spiritual growth and all the perceived material matters are actually a spiritual problem.

My first response when looking at the planetary configurations forming this summer is a horrific event dealing with destruction. But Jupiter in the sign of Pisces can indicate growth and healing. And with a certain degree of free will I believe we do have a choice as to the direction this huge astrological event can take. And let me remind everyone this is an extremely radical, and rare astrological event occurring this summer. Along with the grand cross forming, on July 11th there will be a total Solar Eclipse. This is intense and will produce more Earth changes with earthquakes, more volcanic eruptions and extreme weather. The eclipse path is in the Pacific close to Chile, Tahiti, and New Zealand. So between now and July the earth will be changing and increasing with these effects. The next partial Solar Eclipse in January 2011 will begin its effects and the areas covered in that eclipse path are most of China, the southern tip of India, central Africa and Spain. This indicates where problems will begin, such as social unrest, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and severe weather.

Mercury turned retrograde the week the volcano erupted in Iceland and grounded the flights in Europe. Billions of dollars were lost by the airlines and travelers were stranded. Not a good week to travel! Mercury is retrograde in the sign of Aries, a cardinal fire sign. When Mercury retrogrades in a fiery sign it does increase the extremes of its effects. Mercury will not go direct until May 11th. Also the oil spill off the coast of Louisiana occurred during this time and will take its toll affecting many variables, some not even yet foreseen.

On May 30th Saturn will turn direct indicating forward movement in business and government affairs. But during the time before or after a planet turns retrograde, there is a period where it stations or stands still. This can immobilize businesses and progress during this period. It is not a good idea to start a business during Saturn retrograde, for Saturn ruler of Capricorn rules business and government. Therefore, after the station when Saturn begins to move forward, progress will begin in these areas. Saturn turned retrograde last January.

To know we have free will gives us all the sense of freedom. The need to feel free is essential to the process of human growth. When one feels chained and bound by circumstances or others, it kills the human spirit. Always remember your free will enables you to make choices that direct your future.

My message this month is about FREEDOM.

In the news there is continual talk of the banks and the greed of Wall Street and big business takeovers. The most disturbing news has to do with the banks, which lent money they knew individuals could not pay back, and with the economic downturn we now have a crisis. When we hear of all the billions the banks and ultra rich are taking in now we feel a bit trapped. But what can we do about it? My response is "Nothing!" We don’t have the power to change all this corruption. This feeling of being trapped within a system that promotes greed and gives control to a select few makes us feel a sense of no freedom. The lack of freedom is what kills our spirit. Freedom is the feeling that inspires our spirit and makes us happy for it is our natural state of mind. Being in our bodies is confining because the spirit form is our natural state.

The thrill of feeling free on the ski slopes, on a motorcycle, swimming or going for a run on a beautiful day gives this sense of the feeling of freedom. Having money gives freedom! It enables you to not worry about bills or losing your sense of security, and enables you to travel and learn. So essentially money, or doing what makes us happy, is all about freedom. And since we feel helpless in a world of massive control from corrupt money managers, I am here to tell you the truth of our perceived dilemmas. My message is that true freedom comes with this understanding, and that is; it is the EGO that limits and makes us feel trapped not the global money issues or those perceived as in control. For in most instances the ultra rich are prisoners to their money for they are never free. They are constantly battling to keep what they have. It is a sad predicament in this world, but there is a simple answer. There is a SECRET that has the power to set you FREE! The Secret is that all this is an illusion because our EGO is an illusion. What we must realize is that we are not separate from GOD. We are GOD! The EGO is what causes the illusion of feeling struck and imprisoned in this world. We have the power to claim back our birthright to feel freedom for we are not the EGO we must realize we are GOD.

When you realize your true identity you will get the sense that nothing in this world can destroy who you are or your spirit. This comes through the conscious awareness of this fact and the realization that you are in control of your thoughts, therefore you must remind yourself of the perceived illusion and that you are capable of creating the world in which you want to live. And every time you think a negative thought about yourself you must reverse it. You must become the master of your mind and thoughts. Choose again every time you think a negative thought. You have the power to do this! And it is constant in this world where negativity seems to prevail, but you must conquer the mind and your thoughts.

When you capture a bird as a child, you want to keep it. But as you look at the bird in a cage, you begin to know keeping it caged up is cruel. You are imprisoning it for your own desire to own it. The bird will only prosper and be happy when you set it free. This is the same with people. We need freedom.
