Mercury will be retrograde September 7th until September 29th in Sidereal Virgo and Tropical Libra. As a Vedic astrologer I use the Sidereal system for prediction. Mercury rules all forms of communications, and travel. As always, take time to back up your computer, be more patient with air travel and read the fine print when signing contracts. I believe this Mercury retrograde is going to be much more volatile and eventful.

The retrograde process gives us the opportunity to review and revisit areas of our lives that we have previously ignored. Mercury in this sensitive position forms a grand cross with Mars, Pluto and Uranus. This can cause some major misunderstandings that can lead to outbreaks of hostility and major crisis globally. Be careful with any commitments or contracts. There are misunderstandings due to feelings of anxiousness. We must be clear in our communications during this time to ensure we are conveying our information without anger or intolerance.

Mercury in the sidereal sign of Virgo will emphasize health and healing. Anger concerning the health insurance reform will become more intense with no resolution in sight. Disease and many forms of flu viruses will be magnified during this fall.

It appears this is the time for us to get our finances in order. The falling of our economy is only a symptom of this challenging time. It is time for each of us to discover our true purpose. We come to understand ourselves through our reflection in others. Mercury as the great communicator gives us the opportunity to understand our relationship to others. This is an extraordinary time in history, allowing us to come to terms with those against whom we hold resentments. We are here to heal our relationships, which ultimately means we are here to heal ourselves. This will be reflective of our world. Mercury retrograde during this time gives us the opportunity to look deeply into our communications, to see how we relate and how we offer love and compassion to one another.

Mercury retrograde and predicti   |IP70.173.191.xxx |2009-09-16 21:19:26 I once read that Reagan was choosing Mercury Retrograde periods to give those speeches that he would not intend to be serious. Not sure how true this was, but I also think that an astrologer should avoid making predictions during this time. I also think that reading too much of gloomy predictions remind us of those Communists who were encouraging people to trust them because they thought they were the only ones holding the power. Gloomy predictions give astrology a bad name, and I think you Joni should wake up to the times and not mention "God" while you talk about disasters. God would not want you as His messenger. He likes strong people. It is a shame, otherwise you appear quite literate, but unfortunately in the Jewish sense of the word. If you will reverse your dogma I am sure you will be taken seriously in the 21st century. The times are indeed changing (no doubt about it), but few of us will change with them, as long as we are shown only the dark clouds in the sky. MERCURY RETROGRADE......baahhh, I should have waited until the end of September to send you this message.....

Gloomy predictions should not be allowed. Do you watch the news? I prefer positive thinking as well, but appreciate that sometimes things don't go as smoothly as we would like. Joni talks about God because she believes in God. This is after all, her website. Aren't we all God's children, even those who you may not perceive as being strong? Joni is not only strong, she is gracious. After all, she allowed you an opportunity to share your opinions, regardless of what they are.
