October 2008 News from the Stars

clothSpiritual Insights

Saturn is probably the most significant planet in astrology since it represents the material 3rd dimensional plane we live in. Saturn is the planet of reality. It awakens us to the harsh cold reality of our planet. Saturn is work, structure and form. Nothing could be held together or even come together without the Saturn aspects in our lives. I am making reference to Saturn because the most explosive times on our planet deal with the oppositions made by an outer planet to Saturn. Whatever has been neglected or denied will surface when an outer planet opposes Saturn. I feel strongly about the use of the outer planets particularly when making global predictions, for the outer planets rule the mass consciousness. I am well aware that the traditional Vedic astrologers do not use the outer planets, but I feel they are missing a huge piece of the picture when making world predictions. Just to recap, take a look at a brief piece of history in the year 2001, when Pluto opposed Saturn. This is when the undercurrents and hidden agendas of terrorist surfaced. Then in 2005, Neptune opposed Saturn bringing about the destruction of hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami. Pluto is the planet of death and the underworld dealing with the undercurrents of extremes such gangs and the mafia. Around the time of Pluto’s discovery in the 1940s the mafia gangs and nuclear energy came about. Neptune is the god of the ocean. Saturn’s harsh opposition to Neptune was the force of the waters of the oceans that raged its fury upon our inhabitants.

So now we are approaching the opposition of Saturn and Uranus. These two planets oppose each other approximately every 45 years. The last opposition was 1965-1967. Saturn was in Aquarius and Uranus was in Leo: the flip-flop of the signs as they occurred in 1918 and today 2008, with Saturn in Leo and Uranus in Aquarius. In 1918 Saturn and Uranus opposed each other in the same signs of Leo and Aquarius, just as now. The flu pandemic of 1918-1919 killed over 40 million people and was the most deadly disease event in human history. It caused healthy young people to develop viral pneumonia almost overnight, and victims often died within 48 hours. This may be a time of related occurrences with terrorist attacks inflicting disease or viruses on our land. I believe disease is the result of a world consumed with fear.

In the 1960s there was a revolution occurring within America and globally. The younger generation was, and is, fed up with the way our government is being run. There was a revolt in the streets and in government. Racism and assassinations dominated the news. The war in Vietnam was escalating with record numbers of deaths. The war protest demonstrations shook the nation. I suspect there will be a similar uproar in the year to come with this planetary opposition. This is one of the reasons I predict no matter who our president is next year we will be involved in an escalating war crisis. The financial stresses of war will further deteriorate our economy.

All the financial crises with the banks, stock market, and housing is all a result of everyone overextending themselves and Saturn will shake us back into reality. The polarity is at its extremes with this opposition. This stress will be the breakdown of our government and economy. People don’t change unless they have to, so we are now feeling the effects of our overspending and overextending ourselves. We are at the point now where we have to change. The Universe does what is necessary to put us back on track. Uranus rules technology, including computers, and electricity, so be aware there will be some major breakdowns with this opposition in effect. Uranus is the planet of radical changes and the future so prepare for some of the most radical changes experienced in this century.

This first exact opposition occurs on election day, November 5th, so go figure what is in store for us that day. I know the elections will not go as planned. The next two oppositions occur February 6th and September 16th of 2009. This is going to be a colossal year of changes. The president elected will be exactly who is needed (no matter who you believe is the one) to bring about the lessons we need. It is time to wake up for a new world can be born. I believe there will be mass destruction and loss of lives during the year of 2009. The elections will be the beginning date of this transformational year. The results of the elections will surprise everyone. I still believe John McCain’s chart is a bit stronger. Based on the fact that Obama has transiting Ketu on his Sun, the Sun rules Presidents. He will experience personal loss. Because it is in his 7th house, (the house of partnerships) there will a loss in part due to his wife or running mate. Ketu will be on McCain’s Mars, which is not good either. But the most significant aspect is the transiting opposition of Saturn and Uranus, which Saturn will be conjunct Obama’s natal Mars in the 8th house. This is a very dangerous aspect that can represent death. In McCain’s chart transiting Saturn will be conjunct his Venus in the 12th house of loss. With both of these difficult aspects I wonder if the elections will be postponed. One way or another both Presidential candidates are in for a very difficult election. I believe if Obama gets elected he will have assassination attempts. If McCain is elected there will be outrage with much turbulence amongst the masses. With all details considered going back and forth with each chart McCain’s chart has a slight edge over Obama. To see more assessment on both presidential candidates you can go to my lecture given at UAC in May. December is a very turbulent month with possible attacks and outbreaks in our country.
Thank you Debra for your comment and catching the typo in this blog entry... Yes, the 2008 elections take place on November 4, 2008, not on the 5th as noted in the paragraph above.

Around 6:00am in Washington, DC on November 4, 2008, Saturn and Uranus will be exact in opposition. But events are not always going to occur on the very exact time of an aspect. I tell all my clients that the strongest of the energy is in effect particularly 2 weeks before and 1 week following the exact aspect. But sometimes the event can occur within a 3 degree orb especially when other aspects are occurring simultaneously. I have noticed aspects involving the nodes (Rahu/Ketu) produce results within a 3 degree orb of applying to the exact aspect.

In terms of the 2008 elections, we may not know the results until November 5, 2008 or very late on the 4th. But in the case of the 2000 presidential election we didn’t know the results until way after election day.

Planetary Predictions

As the opposition of Saturn and Uranus are nearing their exact opposition great extremes and tension are to be expected this political race. There will be more unexpected events in the news.

The Kala Sarpa yoga is in effect till October 10th. There will be a bit of relief October 10th-21st. There will be a feeling of awareness. The truth is clear and our denials become visible and easier to face. Between October 21st and November 5th the Moon will be traveling within the entrapment of Rahu and Ketu, so the Kala Sarpa yoga effects will be felt. This entails karmic repercussions dealing with disease and extremes with mental problems. Strife and loss will be felt all over the world.

October 14th is the full Moon at 27 degrees of Pisces in Revati nakshatra. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and Revati is the last and final nakshatra indicating some final closure at last to many difficult issues that surfaced over this year. Soon there will be a completion or closure to so many projects that have felt unfinished.

October 15th Mercury turns direct and the political arena forges forward. But I think the results of the election will surprise everyone. It is time to clear out the old and prepare for the new.

October 26th Rahu will aspect Mercury, a turn of events changes our truths and beliefs. This change is creating a new world, but growth can sometimes be painful. Compulsive thoughts and beliefs keep us from our highest good. It is time to surrender to a higher law and know that the changes are occurring for the highest good of mankind.

October 30th Saturn aspects Mars, this will cause some major mishaps and delays. Irrational behavior and events top the news. Aggression and anger surmount in breakouts of terror or attacks.

Remember people don’t change unless they are forced to. The changes occurring now are the breakdown of the old patterns that do not serve the new world of awareness. Accept the changes as a blessing in disguise and you will be thankful for the good that it creates for future generations. What exciting times to be alive!

Excerpt From My Book "Awaken to the Truth"

hands releasing Surrender
If you choose to be indignant, self-righteous, and justified about your feelings instead of surrendering to your fears, you will remain where you are. But if you are ready to change and receive that which you desire, be prepared to face some unpleasant aspects of yourself and your life. It can be a very humbling experience. Remember, we are never given anything we cannot handle.

Change is always hard for us because it means we must move out of our comfort zone and trek across unknown grounds with no sense of security. You must be willing to give up your life as you know it for a different life. If you aren’t getting the results you want in your life, consider taking a risk.

Ask and You are Given
All you need to do is ask sincerely in prayer. Ask that you be shown the truth to enable you to achieve your highest potential and goals. This does mean you have something far greater to achieve than what you are currently experiencing. You may be surprised at what will come up.

out and insightful. I hope to be able to get a personal reading with you in the
not too distant future.

Do you agree with some of the psychic that if McCain chosen as President, he
will lead USA to world war 3 / Nuclear war?
Karen Shea   |IP66.69.32.xxx |2008-10-06 17:52:54
Hi Joni,

As usual, I find your newsletters amazingly insightful and immensley
helpful in stepping back and seeing the events in our world for what they are -
opportunities to learn and make changes. When I view the current disturbing and
chaotic world events from the perspective of what the universe is teaching us, I
am much more able to stay focused from a spiritual perspective. Please keep up
your wonderful work!

I am tired of "facing" myself and constantly being the world's
scapegoat. I want others to be forced to face themselves too.

I had Joni do personal readings for myself starting in 2005. In 2005 to 2006
she was on point almost exact to the date, but in 2007 and 2008 her forecasts
have not been as accurate. These results made me realize that there are so many
"factors" involved in each individual's life that one cannot use just
one tool as a guide. One has to use many tools to help guide them with the
realization that life, time and the universe move at their own accord not the
individual's. A book that I would recommened all to read is "The Drunkard's
Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives" by Leonard Mlodinow. It puts things
into perspective, especially for those wanting to understand life's paths.

As
for the elctions I am not impressed with either candidate, am a supporter of
term limitations for all politicians and wish we had a viable third political
party alternative to the Democratic and Republican parties. The following was in
my e-mail box and regardless of whether david letterman actually said this or
not, I believe it describes the condition of the American citizen today:
