Why is there so much suffering in this world today? And why must we suffer? For me the quest to understand Suffering has been one of my greatest gifts because this quest to understand suffering in this world has lead me to Spirituality. Through the pain of suffering we are driven to seek a way out which leads us to seek the only release which comes from a spiritual quest, which leads us to self realization or God.

I made a prediction for my Japanese website that an earth quake and tsunami would hit Japan before it happened. When I sent the prediction in to Yoshie (my interpreter) I felt like a bearer of bad tidings and negativity. After this event, astrologers made interpretations concerning why this event occurred. Okay this is easy to do, but what about predicting it before it happens!

I wrote to my interpreter Yoshie with my condolences adding on a copy of the past e-mail that I sent her in February with my predictions concerning the warnings for the earth quake, volcanic eruptions and tsunami. I watched the news and the devastation and saw the faces of those who lost everything, loved ones, family, and all their material things, everything. But as I began to understand and feel the devastation in Japan I then began to think “So you can predict and event of such horrific consequences, what does that do for anyone?” Which lead me to think how egotistical I was to be proud of my prediction.  How was I to be happy over this prediction when there was so much suffering.  I began to think how we as humans are fascinated by events that are catastrophic, such as death and catastrophes.

Humans love drama that involves life and death matters. In reality this is the nature of this dimension, for it is the place of duality. We cannot escape or change the reality of this dimension. This place of duality is based on the opposite extremes. Planet Earth has the polarity of the Sun and Moon which represents the duality, and is seen in the nature of our experiences. Where there is the Sun and Moon, there is male and female, night and day, negative and positive, war and peace, love and hate, separation and unity, birth and death, suffering and happiness, ugly and beautiful, gain and loss, future and past, and  astrologically Rahu and Ketu. There cannot be one without the other here on Earth.

Okay we know this, but how does this information help us deal with life’s extremes. This leads me to the duality that is exemplified in astrology through the two opposite points we refer to as Rahu and Ketu, the dragon’s head and the dragon’s tail. These are the nodes of the Moon which are the points where the Sun crosses the ecliptic (path of the Sun around the Earth). Rahu is the north node of the Moon where the Moon crosses the ecliptic traveling upward or north, and Ketu is the point on the ecliptic where the Moon crosses headed downward or south. Rahu is the north node of the Moon and Ketu is the south node of the Moon. You see the Rahu and Ketu symbolize the crux of our reality or duality.  The nodes of the Moon are actually juncture points that take us into and out of this world. Rahu is our mind (head) and Ketu is our knowing (heart). Rahu is what brings us into this world for it rules our attachments while Ketu is our detachment of this world which brings us out of this world.

The Sun, Moon and Earth can be seen as the trinity of mind, body and spirit. In this symbology the Earth is the body, the Mind is the Moon, and the Spirit is Atma or the Sun. The mind needs to harnessed to elevate our consciousness from this duality. When one is immersed in the mind it becomes imprisoned by the world of materialism and duality. But when the mind is released from the world of duality it becomes free of the attachments of this materialistic world of duality. How is this done, through the heart where the spirit of oneness resides. This oneness is where everything and everyone resides and is one. We will realize there is no separation only unity.  When we are connected to the Divine we get a glimpse of unconditional love and Unity.  The mind creates this world of duality and separation, with opinions and judgments.

The end or loss of this world is Ketu. Ketu is looked upon as a bad indicator when reading a chart, for when it transits and conjoins a planet it causes loss, endings and death. Rahu is the indicator of gains in this world.  To the great Seers of Vedic astrology Rahu was the worse malefic and Ketu was the benefic, for Ketu brought enlightenment and Rahu the entrapment of this world, which ultimately brings suffering. What binds us to the suffering of this world is our mind which is symbolized by the head of the dragon. So to unleash us from the suffering of this world we need to follow the path of enlightenment which is Ketu. This means get out of our head and into our heart. There will always be suffering in this dimension of planet Earth for this is the nature of duality, but we are here to understand when we come from the heart we heal the illusion of suffering.  When we give to others unselfishly we feel instantaneously the power of the Divine reaching out through our heart.

This is our mission now on planet Earth in dark times to reach out with love to others for the compassionate heart will heal the illusion of suffering. Our ticket to freedom from the suffering of this world is to choose to understand we are all one and connected to this Divine source that resides in our hearts, not our mind. For in the mind the suffering is created, this vast illusion of duality. As we reside in the heart energy our vibration is at a much higher frequency where the illusion will disappear. Quiet and still the mind and realize we are all one then the ultimate healing of humanity will occur. Meditation, yoga, and self analysis will awaken the healer within, realizing it was all a dream created by the mind. We are all here to awaken from this illusion, for this is the purpose of our existence here on planet Earth.

To heal the illusion of this world is our purpose, realizing our spiritual unity of oneness. This is the lesson of the ancient myths that concern evil verses good, or darkness verses light. The ego or separation (Rahu) verses the unity of the Divine or oneness (Ketu). The world out there is to help us see better what is in us, whether it is played out by mass human events, personal events or just the symbology of the planets. The suffering of this world has directed me to the Eternal Quest which is self realization or God.
