Vedic Astrology Brief - Eclipses |
|
Eclipses are one of the most powerful tools we have as astrologers to make predictions. The eclipse patterns occur two times a year. There will be a solar eclipse with a lunar eclipse occurring two weeks before or after the solar eclipse. These patterns occur six months apart. Visually it occurs when the Sun and the Moon come into close proximity and they line up with the earth to cause a blockage of light. A lunar eclipse is when the Earth casts a shadow over the moon and occurs at a Full Moon. A solar eclipse is a New Moon where the Moon crosses in front of the Sun casting a shadow on the Sun.
As astrologers we note the astrological degree an eclipse occurs and look to see if there are planets close to these degrees in the astrological charts we are studying. When this occurs we can make a major prediction concerning dynamic changes regarding what the planet represents in a birth chart.
Remember eclipses represent the blockage of light which can mean a transition and change. Astrologers know there will be more earth changes such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and severe weather around the eclipse patterns within the year.
The eclipses for the year of 2010 occur in January and July indicating intensity of earth changes and personal problems for individuals. Make note of how there will be extremes and intensity within these months of the year 2010.
Where the eclipses are most visible on earth are called the eclipse paths and usually can indicate where the earth changes are more prevalent. In January 2010 the eclipse paths are close to India, China, Japan, Indonesia and Africa. The path in July is close to South America New Zealand and Tahiti. Strategically to find where an earthquake will occur requires the calculation for the birth chart of the country in question.
