Each month I write a very short Vedic astrology "lesson" for my Japanese website. I'm going to be adding them here as well.
Vedic astrology uses gemstones to mitigate the issues or problems foreseen in a birth chart. The gemstones hold power from the earth and represent the energy of the planets. Each planet has a gemstone that represents its power and energy in a birth chart.
The planets and stones are associated as well by their color. The sun is red/ruby, the Moon/white/pearl, Mercury/Green/Emerald, Venus/white/diamond, Mars/red/coral, Jupiter/yellow/yellow sapphire, Saturn/blue/blue sapphire. These gemstones or stones of the same color will heal the problems indicated in the birth chart.
This is called a gemstone prescription. A Vedic astrologer will prescribe a gemstone to heal the issues or problems seen by a planet in the birth chart.
There is no wonder the kings and queens knew of the power to heal life’s issues and problems through powerful gemstones. But one must take caution because wearing the wrong stone can cause more problems depending on how a planet is placed in your chart. A grave example of the problems gemstones can inflict is seen historically through the owners of the Hope Diamond.
