Elizabeth Taylor | Print |

Elizabeth Taylor was a legendary icon from the glamorous hay day of Hollywood and movies. Known for her style, beauty, and talent, she held the title for the most beautiful woman in the world, noted for her violet eyes. Her scandalous affairs and her eight marriages made her the star of the tabloids.
Her love of art originated from her American parents who were art dealers in England where she was born. When they moved back to California she was discovered by talent scouts in her parent’s art gallery in the Beverly Hills Hotel. She owned extravagant original paintings and jewelry.
“Liz” loved to live life to the fullest taking everything to the extreme. Her extremes led to addictions to food, drugs, and alcohol. Noted for her loyalty and generosity she began a charity that raised millions of dollars for Aids.
Many wonder what is in her chart to predict eight marriages? I have to point to Venus indicator of relationships and ruler of her 7th house (Taurus) of marriage exactly conjunct Uranus the planet of change and rebelliousness. Additionally, Jupiter aspects (trines) the Venus/Uranus conjunction which expands and multiplies the results, producing many marriages. Her Venus is in Pisces, the sign of exaltation is in the 5th house. Along with Venus and Uranus she has Rahu in Pisces in the 5th house. The 5th house is the house of theater and acting which explains her talent and acting skills. Jupiter aspects (trines) the 5th house and rules this house (Pisces) empowering the 5th house for talent and intelligence. When the ruler of the 7th house is in the 5th house there is a tendency to be a love and romance addict for the 5th house is the house of romance. Rahu is known to produce addictions and in the 5th house creates an obsessive quality to the mind. (If you look from her Moon the same scenario occurs for Mars rules the 7th house from the Moon and Mars is in the 5th house from the Moon).
Liz lost her 3rd husband, flamboyant film producer Mike Todd in a plane crash right after the birth of her their daughter. Todd named the plane “Lucky Liz”. Uranus is known for unexpected accidents, and conjunct Venus ruler of her 7th house of marriage indicates a sudden accident to a husband. There were so many transits affecting her chart on that fated day, 03/23/1958. Rahu and Ketu were at 8 degrees of Libra (Rahu) and Aries (Ketu). Her natal Saturn is at the midpoint 7 degrees of Capricorn of Rahu and Ketu. Rahu and Ketu indicate an event of a fated nature, but the most profound transiting aspect was Uranus planet of sudden accidents at 14 degrees Cancer in a quincunx relationship (8/6) with the natal Sun and Mercury, and at the same time transiting Mercury was conjunct natal Venus and Uranus 24 degrees of Pisces. Mercury in her chart rules the 8th house of death and endings.
Her Moon is in the 12th house in Libra isolated and alone indicates her deep feelings of loneliness and lack of support, probably leading to her addictions. A 12th house Moon indicates a very private person who needs their solitude but can isolate from the world. This house indicates film and movies for it is the house of illusion which is what movies are; an illusion. The Moon rules the 9th house of spirituality and philosophy which indicates her generosity and deep feelings of compassion which she gave back to the world in her work with charities to help her friends whom she gave of her time, efforts and money. She raised millions for AIDS research and for Jewish causes. She converted to Judaism in her twenties.
Jupiter in the 9th house exalted in Cancer gives her a sense of compassion and search for the truth. Jupiter rules the 2nd and 5th houses which are two houses of wealth and money, which gives success in her material pursuits. Since the 2nd house rules speech, Jupiter ruler of this house in the 9th house of the truth indicates someone who speaks the truth. Exalted Jupiter in the 9th house and ruler of the 5th house of children brings luck and fortune plus the gift of children. She had four children.
Mars, Sun and Mercury are conjunct in the 4th house in Aquarius. Mars is the ruler of her chart (rules ascendant) Scorpio rising and with the Sun and Mercury gives her drive and ambition, especially since the Sun rules the 10th house of her career and reputation. But what stands out to me is the nakshatra these three planets are in, Shatabhishak. This is the nakshatra that can indicate problems with addictions, particularly alcohol. It is called “the hundred healers” and indicates healing disease and addictions. She had many health problems she overcame such as pneumonia, brain tumor, hip replacements, heart trouble and addictions.
Her Mercury is the same degree as her Sun, this may seem like a very combust Mercury (too close to the Sun) but this is a rare aspect which is called Cazimi. When a planet is the same degree as the Sun it becomes one with the Sun meaning they unite and become a huge bright combination of these two energies. This is a very conscious and bright combination depicting a sense of humanitarianism and awareness.
Saturn in the 3rd house in Capricorn gives discipline and perseverance. Capricorn is a very ambitious sign which she has worked extremely hard her entire life beginning her acting career as a child.
Elizabeth Taylor finally surrendered to death on March 23rd 2011, with congestive heart failure at age 79. Transiting Mars was passing over her planets in her 4th house. The 4th house and the Sun rule the heart and as Mars was transiting in this house close to the Sun she was in the hospital for six weeks before her passing. Transiting Mars was 28 degrees at the time of her death. But the most important transit that indicated her death was transiting Rahu and Ketu, Rahu was at 3 degrees Sagittarius and Ketu was 3 degrees of Gemini. They are exactly aspecting (square) natal Rahu at 3 degrees Pisces and natal Ketu at 3 degrees of Virgo. It was Ketu in the 8th house that brought on her final liberation.
Elizabeth Taylor lived her life to the fullest with passion and intensity. She will always be remembered for her magnificent beauty, talent, loyalty and generosity. She was the best of the best of her time, won academy awards and known as the most beautiful woman in the world. She had it all, with a life well lived full of experience and wisdom. She left her imprint on this world. What a life!

Hi Joni,

I've always loved Liz Taylor. My grandmother emulated her, aside from
the marriage aspect and her love of jewellery was something I shared too! I love
to watch all her movies, my favourites being Suddenly, last summer; Cat on a hot
tin roof and Giant! She had it all, style, fame, compassion, ups and downs, and
those eyes!!

I have a question? If I schedule for a reading, do I get such detail a

for sometime but don't know what to expect.
Please let me know.

Thank you for the great tribute to Elizabeth, who was truly Hollywood 'royalty'.
Your analysis of
her chart is both elegant and compassionate. I really
appreciate
how you explain the effects of transits and aspects which can be so
different by only a fraction of a degree. (i.e Mercury/Sun exact conjunction)

Shalini,
The posts I do on celebrities is only a very short condensed version
of their life. In a full natal reading it covers much more, the past, present
and details for 2 years into the future.
Joni

"You will come to a point where you understand why you are here. You will understand that each and every person you perceived as a threat or who hurt you gave you the divine insight into the issues and feelings you needed to release. It is all an inner journey to reveal the attitudes that keep us from this ultimate realization."
