"The Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion refers to the April 20, 2010 explosion and subsequent fire on the Deepwater Horizon semi-submersible Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), situated about 40 miles (64 km) southeast of the Louisiana coast in the Macondo Prospect oil field. The explosion killed 11 workers and injured 17 others; another 98 people survived without serious physical injury. It caused the Deepwater Horizon to burn and sink, and started a massive ongoing offshore oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico; this environmental disaster is now considered the largest in U.S. history."

It seems some very ominous events have occurred on the same date that the oilrig in the Gulf of Mexico exploded, April 20, 2010. On the day of April 20, 1999 the shootings at Columbine High school occurred. On April 19, 1995 the Oklahoma City bombing happened, and April 20th was the birth date of Adolph Hitler.

So what does this day have in common astrologically? The Sun would be in the same portion of the zodiac which is around 6 degrees Aries sidereal (0 degrees of Taurus tropical). The fixed star located here is Mira which deals with perseverance, versatility, endurance with solving problems but with unhelpful connections it deals with failures, fiascos, enmity, and suicide. Also, the fixed star  El-Scheratain “the left horn of the Ram” is at this point. This is a violent star, combining Martian and Saturnian powers, it indicates danger when acting impulsively, it is explosive and destructive. Robert Oppenheimer was born April 22nd close to this day. He invented the hydrogen bomb which killed many people.

This chart of the oil rig explosion has a Scorpio Ascendant, ruler Mars is debilitated in Cancer in the 9th house. In this position Mars aspects both natal Jupiter and Neptune by Mars’ 8th aspect. The 8th aspect of Mars is the deadliest. Neptune rules Oil and the Ocean and is in the 4th house which is the foundation of the chart. Mars also rules the 6th house of accidents where the Sun and Mercury are situated. The Sun is exalted but in this very ominous degree of 6 Aries that has proven to cause destruction throughout the years. The Sun is with Mercury which is retrograde indicating problems with machinery, and mishaps in communications.

Mercury the ruler of the 8th house of death is in the 6th house of accidents with the Sun which is the life force of any chart. The Moon is with Ketu in the 8th house. This is a very difficult chart for both of the luminaries in this chart for they are both in dusthana houses which are the most difficult and challenging. Dusthana houses produce suffering, they are houses  6, 8, and 12. The Moon with Ketu is also aspected by Saturn, this does indicate death and many obstacles to come. Ketu is the karaka (indicator) of loss in a chart. And when a planet is aspeted by more than one malefic (Ketu and saturn) it is harmed or afflicted. The 8th house also deals with things that cannot be seen or understood.  It rules power and death. The fact that the Moon rules the 9th house of truth in the 8th house of the hidden, means the truth will not be revealed. And Ketu with the Moon means there will be severe loss not forseen into the future, for the 9th house rules the future.
The 9th house aslo indicates legal pursuits but the ruler of the 9th in the most difficult 8th house which rules corruption, dishonesty and scandals indicates corruption, and scandal. The ruler of the 6th house  in the 9th house can mean leagal battles will persisit for the 6th house indicates enemies and accidents. There will be years of legal retribution to come.  Rahu in the 2nd house pertains to money and Ketu in the 8th is others money indicating a fierce battle over money.

Venus is in it’s own sign Taurus in the 7th house (Malavaya Yoga) meaning it is very strong, but it does rule the 12th house of foriegners and may give more strength to the foreigers  in the USA.  The 7th house usually signifies the opponet  in a mundane chart.

Jupiter is aspecting the Moon in the 8th house actually compounding the issues around 8th house matters: death, but may indicate a dicovery that may come out of this for good.

Ketu is aspecting Jupiter weakening its quality to do good and the sign Aquarius weakens Jupiter’s effect.  Rahu is aspecting Mercury and the Sun, compounding them with negative energy.

What I sumize from this very difficult chart is not good! I believe if you track the movement of the transiting planets as they continue to move through the zodiac and the houses in this chart the eclipse will occur in the 8th house of death and money . The transiting Sun will transit through the 8th house till mid July and will cause more problems. Then when Mars moves forward to conjunct Saturn towards the end of July there may be another event that causes more destruction. 

It is my belief that the aspect of Mars to Neptune and Jupiter in this chart pertains to the oil leak. The aftermath and repercussions from the damage done is far worse than can be imagined. This has created a cesspool of disease to come. This is the poisen in our water.  There will be another host of problems on the forefront.  Also around the same time Mars enters Virgo the transiting Sun will change into Cancer leaving the 8th house going into the 9th house, this may help the leak, but it can help in the legal lawsuits distributing the money for those who really need it.

Saturn is the ruler of the 4th house which is the bottom of the chart or the bottom of the ocean.  It is in the 11th house aspected by the opposition of Uranus, causing explosions. 

Even if the leak is finally stopped I don’t see an end to the problems it is creating.  Another note is the Yod formed by Neptune, Sun and Saturn. A Yod is when planets are 150 degrees (Quincunx) from each other, or  6/8 signs away). Saturn is the focal point of this yod being  150 degrees (Quincunx) both Neptune and the Sun.  The yod is called the “Finger of God” for the events this aspect forms is God's way of returning things back to balance. The point of opposition to Saturn is the trigger point to this yod, and Uranus is the trigger. When Uranus and Saturn are in exact opposition with Mars conjunct Saturn around the end of July 30-31 there may be another explosion concerning this davastating event.  But it may very well be Nature and God’s way of retuning things to balance on planet Earth, for we can see the destruction we have caused through our ignorance.

Where in the chart does perhaps the worst event, the use of the toxic chemical dispersant come into play? This is used purely to mask the oil plumes but I believe will be the most damaging effect overall. Thanks for your articles. Gary

I've followed his films through the years I think he is an amazing actor and although sometimes, very controversial, he is also a good director This madness he is displaying lately is baffling to me and I'm wondering if there is something going on in the heavens that is contributing to his latest rascist tirades and bad behavior.
