Patrick Swayze, actor and dancer, had an incredible life of fame and success. The part of him I truly appreciated was his skill with dancing. I danced in a ballet company in my early years so I understand the discipline and skill this work entails. In astrology the 11th and 12th houses rule the ankles and feet and I have seen that most exceptional dancers have these houses powerful and strong. Patrick has the Moon in Cancer in the 11th house, ruler of the 11th in the 11th and the Sun in Leo in the 12th, ruler of the 12th in the 12th. These placements empower these houses incredibly.

The 11th house is also the house of gains and he was very successful and wealthy. He has Moon and Mercury together here creating a great Dhana yoga (wealth producing yoga). The ruler of the 11th with the ruler of the 1st. Venus is the only planet that prospers in the 12th house, any other planet looses strength. Venus in the 12th produces wealth.
The Sun and Venus in the 12th gives him opportunity to travel to foreign lands. Particularly with the trine aspect of Jupiter to this house and planets. The Sun as the karaka of father and Venus ruler of the 9th house of father in the 12th house represent loss around the father. His father died young at the same age as Patrick - 57years old. Patrick went into deep depression and a bout with drinking after this loss.
Saturn in the first house represents his discipline and focus in his work. Mars in Scorpio in the 3rd house gave him passion and drive with his athletic abilities. He said he used to get into a lot of fights due to growing up in Texas being in ballet class and on the football team. He had to defend himself constantly. Mars in the 3rd house is very bad for siblings. It is the karaka for siblings and when placed in the 3rd house of siblings will cause trouble. His sister actually lost her life from an overdose during the time they lost their father.
As transiting Saturn has been in his 12th house aspecting both his Sun (health and vitality) and Venus during the pass 2 and half years, his health declined. The 12th house rules hospitals, so he had frequent visits there as well. But it was when Saturn crossed into Vigo that he actually passed. Here it conjuncted his ascendant degree and aspected Mars ruler of the 3rd and 8th houses. These are the houses of death. The 3rd house is the 8th from the 8th house. Ketu just aspected his Moon and aspected his Mars as well. The 11th house is also a house of health since it is the 6th house from the 6th house of health. Transiting Ketu in Cancer here has progressed his illness. Transiting Mars aspected his natal Saturn to the exact degree on the day he died. His Saturn in the 1st house and ruler of the 6th deals with his health.
Patrck Swyaze was a deeply passionate, dedicated and committed person. He stayed with his wife through all the ups and downs. This is just a brief analysis of some of the finer points in his chart. I hope Patrick is dancing with the stars and heavens now.
