President Obama - 2010 Forward
Monday, 30 November 2009
aumA deep look at the Vedic astrology chart of United States President Barack Obama, will help to understand the trends of our country affecting our own lives. I always have used the chart of Presidents to understand events of our country. Sometimes it can predict their personal events and other times the events can indicate events for our country. The fact is if great difficulty hits our nation it will be reflected in the President’s chart. During the time of the elections Obama had transiting Ketu conjunct his natal Sun in the 7th house. This is a very difficult time in anyone’s life. Since it was the time of the Presidential elections I thought it had to have something to do with the elections. The 7th house is a powerful house, because it is an angle. It can represent partners. I wasn’t sure if it had to do with his wife or running mate Biden. Something very difficult was to happen, how was it concerning his partner? It turned out his grandmother who raised him died then. The 7th house is the 4th house from the 4th house indicating his mother’s mother. I didn’t consider the grandmother when it was the day of the Presidential elections. My point is in assessing his chart some of the very personal difficulties may be concerning our nation or affecting him personally. I am going to assess his chart for this year to consider how it will affect our nation, but remember it may concern him personally.

Barack Obama aspect 2010 forward. He is in the last part of Jupiter’s maha dasha. He will be in Jupiter maha dasha, Mars bhukti until February 28th 2010, then Jupiter/Rahu until July 24th 2012. Both these dasha sequences are very difficult, because both Mars and Rahu are in his 8th house. The 8th house is very difficult dealing with obstacles, death, and change. These planets (Mars and Rahu) are 8th from Jupiter as well, the maha dasha ruler. This can be indicating the immense difficulty of his job including many deaths and change in his country. He is in a dangerous position being President of the USA. It seems most Presidents are in danger while running the USA, but these are pivotal changing times in the world. This is a very dangerous job.

Transiting Mars is in his 7th house through May, while it is retrograde through March. It is conjuncting his Sun/Mercury in the 7th house and opposing his Jupiter/Saturn in his 1st house. This means he is constantly balancing out the issues of anger and disruption to his work. He will have to struggle to get his plans accomplished with all the opposing forces. It can also mean on a personal level the job of President will cause conflicts and problems in his marriage. This we never hear about, but there is definitely tension and stress here. The natal Sun in the 7th house indicates a very demanding partner.

When Mars transits into Leo this summer it will be in his 8th house. This is the time I foresee major calamity and disaster for the world. His job will be more intense, with many problems to be overcome. He must be prepared to protect himself and our country. This is a time of danger.

Jupiter will be in his 2nd house until May aspecting his Ketu/Rahu indicating his ability to speak out on human affairs to turn around the global economy. He will look into supporting the insurance companies and giving more money to banks for these are areas ruled by the 8th house. Money and financial issues will be the main concern, with Jupiter in his 2nd house of money. He will begin to implement his plans to resurrect the failing economy. Transiting Jupiter trines his natal Venus, giving him some relief around January. He will be recognized for his leadership globally. In the fall he will receive protection once Jupiter is aspecting his Sun in Cancer in the 7th house.

His natal Venus is the planet that is most afflicted this year. Saturn is squaring, and Pluto is opposing his Venus, while Ketu in late Gemini is approaching. Ketu will conjunct his Venus in about a year. His Venus is in the 6th house which is the house of work and health. Venus is the karaka of the wife and rules the 10th house of career and 5th house of children and creativity. All these areas of his life will come under conflict with this intense energy. The stress and pressure of the job can indicate stress and pressure which can indicate health issues and possible accidents. Anyone who has planets in the mutable signs around 3-10 degrees will have extreme stress and pressure to withstand this year, for this grand cross will aspect these degrees.

Overall President Obama has his work cut out for him. There will be enormous stress and pressure. The world is counting on him to turn everything around and make it a perfect world. He will do his best but the opposing forces are so strong progress will seem to be at a standstill. He must be careful of his physical health and be careful from accidents. The world will come under pressure with extreme violence, he will have to take charge and act quickly for the world will be under attack. His fate is to be President during critical and explosive times. He will be tested and stretched to the max. He must be ready for a time of radical change.

I am not sure why you mix up the Pluto in to indian chart reading. A planet now
considered dwarf, which was found on 1930.. I am not sure how it made into the
astrology. What did the modern scintists and the astrologers understand the
effects of this plannet on the human mind and consiousness? Yet it made into
astrology readings. Now scientists discoverred anothet planet like object beyond
Pluto. I am sure western astrologers soon add it to the charts. I am not sure I
can believe Western astrology any more.

I rarely become emotional about a comment on my site, but the fact that anyone
would down play the use of a particular techniqiue or use of a planet without
ever working with it shows ignorance and closed mindedness. Obviously you have
never tracked the planet of Pluto in a chart. I have been using Pluto for 30
years in my readings and find it overwelmingly powerful in its effects. I have
had 2 of my very best friends die during a Pluto transit. The most recent was 2
weeks ago, this is probably why I feel insulted by your comment. My friend Diana
died with Pluto transiting directly on her Sun in the 8th house and 12 years ago
my best friend Lynn died when Pluto tranited directly on her ascendant degree.
My advise is don't knock something till you have tried it.

Gangadhar, the decision to reclassify Pluto as a planet was taken in Prague in
2006 based on a vote! Since when did we start determining scientific truths
based on a popular vote? True to it's astrological nature, Pluto WILL BE BACK!
I also found it amusing how the Sumerians (who had a much more evolved
civilization here prior to Egypt) included Pluto as one of the planets in their
clay inscriptions. And we think we know all about Pluto having merely discovered
it less than a century ago? Astrology in its purest sense is a RELATIVE science
and, therefore, need not concern itself merely with limited set of stars and
planets. When you observe Pluto in transit and determine over a period of time
that it affects people and situations in a particular way through its transit
THEREIN you have an Astro-Logical hypothesis! This is true concerning ANY
regular or irregular orbit of matter through space as it astro-LOGICALLY relates
to the earth experience.

My wife died when Pluto conjuncted my 7th cusp. Also, as an Aquarian in western
Astrology, my 10th and 6th are ruled by Pluto. Whenever Jupiter conjuncts my
natal OR progressed Pluto, I get a job with the government, or am advanced in
that area. Also, a PLANET revolves around the Sun. Pluto revolves around the
Sun, ergo, it is a PLANET.
Joni is right, the Vedic astrologers in India don't
even look at it, but are prejudged about westerners using it. They are just as
bad as the "scientists" that refuse to look at astrology at all.

The Fathers of Vedic Astrology chose to not include Pluto for a reason. It's
orbital distance from the earth and critical mass were not enough for it to
exert a legitimate influence on the earth and earthlings. All other 'planets'
(rahu and ketu exceptions) can be seen with the naked eye from earth at various
points in time and hence are considered. Real vedic astrologers must be able to
predict without considering Pluto. Too much reliance on Pluto doesn't make any
sense. However, i am curious to see it's use and therefore am not willing to
make a comment against people who use it.

@Richard, You sound prejudiced against indian vedic astrolgers yourself. I
think Gangadhar was taking issue to the fact that the site is being marketed as
Vedic astrology, when pluto is being referenced. When you market something as
'Vedic' astrology and make reference to Pluto, it's misinformation, because
Vedic astrology doesn't consider Pluto at all. By the way, pluto or no pluto, i
love your site Joni. God Bless and no worries.

A Course In Miracles"I can elect to change all thoughts that hurt. Only my condemnation injures me. Only my own forgiveness sets me free. How deceived I was to think that what I feared was in the world, instead of in my own mind. Forgiveness ends the dream of conflict. As forgiveness allows love to return to my awareness, I will see a world of peace and safety and joy. This world will change through you. No other means can save it. My forgiveness is the means by which the world is healed, together with myself, let me then forgive the world, that it may be healed along with me. Peace will come to all who ask for it with real desire and sincerity of purpose." -- A Course In Miracles
